“Donald A. Shirk has written Men at Church, a Bible study based on Paul’s instructions in 1 and 2 Timothy and Titus. In eight lessons, men address the challenges of seeking authentic manhood within the Church. A Regular Baptist Church pastor, Shirk focuses on what men should be and how they should learn and grow at church.

“Shirk says that 1 and 2 Timothy and Titus, commonly known as the pastoral epistles, are not just for clergy, but rather they offer a glimpse of a balanced male character that can be applied to all men of God. Using a 'look-it-up and fill-it-in' Bible study format, men learn that it is okay to ask for directions and what God’s criteria is for team players. Shirk has a doctor of ministries degree from Baptist Bible Seminary, Clarks Summit, Penn. He serves on the Council of Ten of the Empire State Fellowship of Regular Baptist Churches and is a certified police chaplain for Batavia, New York.
